Chief Executive Officer
Sandile’s role is that of the overall management of the business. He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours from the University of Natal. He also holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Business Management from the University Of Witwatersrand Business School. He began his ICT career at AIRCOM International (Pty) Ltd. An organisation specialising in mobile network planning and optimisation software and consulting solutions worldwide, holding various
positions; including Senior Software developer with stints in Europe (Switzerland and England) and Uganda, implementing software solutions for some of the clients who are market leaders in their sectors, i.e. Swisscom mobile in Switzerland and MTN in Uganda amongst others. Thereafter he joined Discovery Holdings, a diversified financial services company; spending a
decade holding various ICT roles including Systems Analyst at Technical Team Lead level, providing business enabling software solutions. The role involved technical design process lead, solutions implementation, team development and oversight, coaching and guidance, research on latest technological trends. After more than 14 years in corporate, he left the sector. The siren call of entrepreneurship was irresistible since his interest laid at the intersection of IT and entrepreneurship.
The Advisory Team/Board
Chairman and founder of KOPM Group (Pty) Ltd, associated companies under the umbrella of KOPM, includes SBuys (Chairman of the Board), Clinix Health Group, Clinix Renal Care, and KOPM Investments. KOPM Investments is the majority Shareholder in a co-owned Soweto Hospital – the famous DR SK Matseke Memorial Hospital.
Previous activities include a seat on the board of Sechaba Medical Services, which was chaired by him for some years, prior relinquishing tenure after a thirty year history with SMS. Dr Matseke is still a Shareholder in this black owned medical aid administration firm. He also played a role in the South African National Defence Forces Medical Services (Reserve Force), reaching the rank of General.
Dr Metseke is well known as a visionary entrepreneur, not only in hospital and health related industries.
